Daily highlights (April 1st)

I'm a bit busy of translating a non-fiction so I don't even remember that today's April Fools' Day. However nothing's special happening today and I'm not kinda that naive fish. This non-fiction is a essay collection of German-American novelist Kurt Vonnegut. The first chapter that i'm translating is about the jokes. Lets take a quote:
Humor is an almost physiological response to fear. Freud said that humor is a respond to frustration - one of several.

Today's also the first day of Melbourne Comedy Festival (in the city) and Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (in the Carlton gardens). Perhaps I'll attend the latter tomorrow to take some photos. The weather will be a bit hotter tomorrow and kinda drizzling on the next day.

Today is Anzac day as well. But the thing that i expect the most is the Australian Literary Review inside the newspaper.

I'm listening to the radio now. My two favorite channels are ABC Radio National and 774 ABC Melbourne.

Other highlighted news:

  • Argentina wil use yuan instead of greenback in trade with China

  • Sarkozy threatens to sink G20 if demands do not met

Update (2/4): The yesterday's winner is Harvard economist Greg Mankiw with this post. It made me sad in 2 seconds.
